I know. You're sick of hearing about it. But you need it in every meal: your body needs complete protein every four hours. You also need iron in your body. Men don't need as much: just 8 mg a day. But women need nearly three times that amount: 18 mg a day.
Red meat is still one of the best ways to get iron. Obviously, if you're not part carnivore, this recipe probably isn't for you. But if you are, read on! I usually use some cheap lean cut of beef - the marinade will soften it - but you can use whatever works best for you.
- 1-2 pounds of grilling or marinating steak, cut into 1"-2" strips
- salt and pepper to taste
Marinade (equal parts, but use at least 1/4 cup for all to make 1 cup total):
- red wine vinegar
- worchestershire sauce
- butter, melted
- grapeseed oil
Mix the marinade together in a bowl. Arrange the cut steak tips evenly in a baking pan (I use an 8"x8" casserole dish) and cover steak with marinade. Cover the whole works with saran wrap and push out as much air as possible. Let sit out for 30-60 min.
Bake at 400 F for 8-10 minutes, depending on the amount of steak and how rare/well done you like your meat.
